Our Operations Manager Richard joined 4 Site Security in autumn 2022, having previously worked for the police in safeguarding, CID and the burglary and robbery squad.
With a focus on managing guarding contracts and now overseeing all temporary work and the 24/7 Control Room, the key elements of Richard’s role are ensuring that clients and staff are happy and maintaining positive working relationships. “This involves dealing with any issues that might arise and also passing on compliments when a job has been done well. Communicating both good and feedback is very important. Transparency is important so that problems can be overcome and learned from. Respect and treating people well is essential. It doesn’t take much to say thank you but it could be just the encouragement someone needs to motivate them.”
Richard likes working for 4 Site Security because he says that he feels like he has joined a forward thinking company that is very interesting and has a great future. He also enjoys the family feel to the business, the solidity and reliability, and that the senior company members are always so supportive and accessible.
He is a boxing enthusiast and used to compete in the ring himself. He is proud that his daughter is an amateur boxer now too. “She used to sit and watch boxing with me,” he says. “She loved it and couldn’t wait to get stuck in. It has given her confidence, fitness and discipline.” Richard also relaxes by walking his Rottweiler.
We asked Richard: Who is your favourite character from a book and why?
He said: “Not really a character from a book, but I really enjoyed reading about comedian Bob Mortimer in his autobiography ‘And Away…’ I find him a very funny man, and would love to go fishing with him!”
